Steak Fajitas

I love fajitas and although they are quick and easy we rarely eat them at home. A few weeks ago Fred at Dinner Diary posted this recipe for steak fajitas and I knew we had to try them.

I marinated the beef for an hour which gave a delicious taste of lime. I also added the wild garlic we foraged for on Sunday in the pepper & onion mix. We had them with tortillas, salad, soured cream, spring onions, cucumber and a bit of grated cheese. They are lovely and we'll certainly be having them again.

  1. Thank you Jules for flooding back fond memories. We used to visit a Mexican Restaurant on holiday. My order once was for Steak Fajitas all the pompt and ceremony was a site to watch from the waiters.

I will have to go and take a peek @ Fred at Dinner Diary for his recipe!

  2. They sounded great...but then when I came to the WILD GARLIC...It sounds incredible!! I love fajitas, and this sounds nice and spicy, just the way I like it!

  3. Rosie - I love the sound of that Mexican restaurant!

cakespy - It's expensive if you can find it for sale in the shops. Wild garlic is a very well kept secret and it's only just coming into season. The leaves have a beautful garlic scent and taste. It's perfect in dishes like this. Just as shame it's only avalible for a few months of the year.

  4. I love fajitas too. In fact we made some on Monday for a quick tea and they were scrummy, though I'm not brave enough for all that steak so used quorn mince & it worked quite nicely.
